Enter Raul Neto, whom the Jazz just waived rather than guarantee his $2.15 million salary.
Shams Charania of The Athletic:
Neto will earn $1,737,145 next season – $1,620,564 from Philadelphia, $116,581 from the NBA. One-year minimum contracts for players with more than two years experience are subsidized by the league.
This is a nice signing for the 76ers. Neto is a capable backup point guard – when healthy. But he has played just 40, 41 and 37 games the last three years. Philadelphia needs more depth at the position. Shake Milton, a second-year combo guard, can provide some. The 76ers should probably add another player who can run the point.
