Warriors suspend Jordan Bell

Jordan Bell and Steve Kerr argued during a game a couple months ago. The incident called attention to greater questions about Bell’s commitment and habits.

Those questions aren’t going away now.

It was telling Golden State signed Andrew Bogut despite already having DeMarcus Cousins, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney and Bell to play center.

Bell has regressed after a promising rookie year. He’s capable of playing versatile defense, finishing above the rim, rebounding and even passing some. He should find a solid role on a team like the Warriors. But he too often drifts into jumpers and doesn’t appear as sharp defensively.

He’ll be a free agent this summer. There’s still time for him to improve his image before then, but this won’t help.
