Report: Bulls will give coach Jim Boylen a raise

What’s going on with the Chicago Bulls? Who knows. Their coach, Jim Boylen, has had a near-mutiny on his hands and scrapped with players during his brief tenure. The team has not performed well, and are just 5-14 since he took over from Fred Hoiberg.

So what did the Bulls front office do?

Give Boylen a raise on the remaining two years of his contract, obviously.

It does seem fair for Boylen to have received some kind of raise. He’s gone from assistant to head coach, and at any normal job that would merit increased compensation. But this is also the NBA, and it seems as though the Bulls should be looking for their coach of the future rather than throwing additional cash at one who clearly isn’t there for the long run.
