The Raptors said Jonas Valanciunas would miss about a month with a dislocated thumb.

Nearly a month later…

Josh Lewenberg of TSN:

The Raptors had a nice thing going starting either Valanciunas or Serge Ibaka at center depending on the matchup.

Toronto has remained good without Valanciunas. Ibaka is versatile enough to handle any matchup. Greg Monroe is solid against bigger opponents. And Pascal Siakam can play some center.

But the Raptors won’t hit peak form until Valanciunas returns.

At least that should happen well before the playoffs. Even with Kawhi Leonard, this is still a team that can’t prove much until the postseason.
