The NBA will eventually lower its age limit to 18, effectively ending the one-and-done era.
But not quickly enough for Bol Bol.
The highly rated prospect couldn’t enter the NBA this season, so he was spending the year at Oregon playing for below-market, cartel-capped compensation. And while doing so, he got hurt.
Shams Charania of The Athletic:
That injury is quite concerning. Teams will want to thoroughly investigate his medicals before drafting him.
But his talent is immense. Bol is 7-foot-2 with a 7-foot-8 wingspan, and he shoots and handles the ball like a guard. He’s such an impressive offensive creator. His defense has holes. The 19-year-old must get stronger, quicker in space and improve his recognition/effort. But he has so many tools.
Still expect Bol – son of former NBA player Manute Bol – to get selected high in this year’s draft. How high will depend on his health and how other top prospects fare the rest of this season. It seems the top of this draft is strong then drops considerably, which should limit Bol’s room to slip.
