Report: Lakers have no interest in acquiring Carmelo Anthony

LeBron James put out word he wants Carmelo Anthony on the Lakers. But LeBron also made clear he wouldn’t go to management about that.

So, the Lakers are making the obvious call of not acquiring Anthony, who’s in limbo while still on the Rockets’ roster.

Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times:

This always seemed like LeBron trying to help a friend, touting Anthony’s ability while the rest of the NBA appears finished with Anthony. Now, that theory appears even more likely.

The Lakers already have enough offensive-minded big forwards in LeBron, Kyle Kuzma and Michael Beasley. Beasley has struggled this season, but if Los Angeles needs a third quality player of that mold, I doubt Anthony is the answer.
