Mikal Bridges said he had never played for a losing team. He darned sure didn’t at Villanova, where he won two national championships.
So, joining the Suns has been an adjustment for the rookie.
A 22-point loss to the Trail Blazers last night dropped Phoenix to 4-21, the NBA’s worst record. During the game, Bridges fouled Damian Lillard then had a demonstrative interaction with Suns coach Igor Kokoskov.
It looked like Bridges was trying to walk past Kokoskov amid instruction while Kokoskov cut off Bridges. That’d be quite troubling.
But it’s also possible the coach was just demonstrating proper defensive position or something else more benign. So, I wouldn’t rush to overreact.
I wouldn’t dismiss this, either, though.
