Is Giannis Antetokounmpo headed to the top of the NBA player power rankings? In the mind of one NBA coach, he’s already there.

Speaking before Saturday’s game between the New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks, Knicks coach David Fizdale said that he believes that Antetokounmpo is already the best player in the league.

At age 23, Antetokounmpo is a favorite for the MVP race this season and he’s garnering attention as Milwaukee continues to chug through the Eastern Conference and rack up wins.

Antetokounmpo must have heard Fizdale’s comments before the game because he scored 33 points to go along with 19 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks in Milwaukee’s game against New York on Saturday. The Bucks came up short in overtime, 136-134, But there is a strong case that Antetokounmpo is or will be the best player in the league sometime soon.

What do you think? Is it too soon to take the crown and give it to the young buck?
