Kevin Durant has had five 50 point games in his career, but not as a Warrior. Well until Wednesday, when he had 50 points, six assists, and seven rebounds.
It wasn’t enough.
That’s because Durant got in a duel with Damian Lillard, who dropped 44 including a key late three that gave the Trail Blazers a much-needed win.
The win matters to Portland because with it the Blazers become the six seed in the West — but still just one game up on the nine-seed Clippers (who also won on Wednesday). And that’s not including the Jazz, the 10 seed, who won their 11th straight game Wednesday — just two games separate six seed Portland and 10 seed Utah. Evey win counts.
