DeMarcus Cousins said he’s recruiting hard for the Pelicans, and he has hinted that includes Carmelo Anthony:

Marc Berman of the New York Post:

According to an NBA source, New Orleans also would have interest in getting Anthony for its roster.

Nevertheless, an NBA source told The Post that Anthony has told the Knicks he would not agree to waive his no-trade clause for New Orleans.

Of course, the Pelicans would want Anthony. They’re woefully thin at small forward, and he’d be a big upgrade. They also have enough junk contracts – Solomon Hill, Omer Asik, E'Twaun Moore, Alexis Ajinca – to aggregate to match Anthony’s large salary. How they make it worth the Knicks’ while is a different question.

New Orleans is also a small market, and the team wouldn’t even be a playoff lock with Anthony. I understand his reluctance to go there. Anthony still seems set on the Rockets.
