Point guards blocking centers at the rim: Isaiah Thomas and John Wall both do it (video)

A point guard blocking a big man’s shot is always fun, and we got a double-helping last night.

John Wall blocked Serge Ibaka, who was playing center for the Raptors, at the rim in the Wizards’ win over Toronto:

Not to belittle Wall’s play — he’s 6-foot-4 to Serge Ibaka’s 6-foot-10 — but Wall is one of the NBA’s best defensive point guards, especially when he focuses on that end. Wall sometimes makes plays like that.

The 5-foot-9 Isaiah¬†Thomas blocking a center at the rim is far more shocking, but the Celtics point guard got 6-foot-9 center Tristan Thompson in Boston’s win over the Cavaliers:

I think Al Horford actually did most of the blocking, but Thomas was credited with the block. In this case, I’m going with the official scorer — mostly because that’s what I want to believe.
