Kristaps Porzingis, Joel Embiid highlight 2017 NBA Skills Challenge

The NBA Skills Challenge at All-Star Weekend has needed some retooling, and this year the league is giving it to us. In addition to your fast-dribbling point guards and wing players, the NBA is adding big men — like, multiple 7-foot big men — at the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend.

This means big men with ball skills will be stars in the lineup, including Kristaps Porzginis, Joel Embiid, DeMarcus Cousins, and Anthony Davis.

The full lineup consists of: Davis, Cousins, Gordon Hayward, Isaiah Thomas, John Wall, Devin Booker, Porzingis, and Embiid.

Cousins, Davis, and Karl-Anthony Towns were in the lineup as big men last year, as was Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.

This season is different, with both Porzingis and Embiid clocking in above 7 feet tall. Both Davis and Cousins are measured at 6-foot-11, as Davis apparently grew another inch over the offseason.

Coupled with the little dudes — Thomas and Wall in particular — and you’ve got a pretty good recipe. It was fun to see Towns win last season, perhaps we’ll see the same again this year.
