During last year’s playoffs, Mark Cuban infamously said Russell Westbrook isn’t a superstar (much to Kevin Durant‘s chagrin). Even with Westbrook elevating his play after Durant left the Thunder for the Warriors, the Mavericks owner stubbornly held onto his already-wrong opinion.
Cuban might finally be relenting.
Tim MacMahon of ESPN:
I don’t know why it’s so hard for Cuban just to call Westbrook a superstar. Cuban likes publicity, and this (somewhat faux) controversy generates it. But Cuban just looks foolish. I’m not sure that’s worth the tradeoff.
