Tyronn Lue and LeBron James knows the team needs to practice. They recently added Kyle Korver, they’ve got the second half of the regular season left, and strong squads to beat. Plus, it’s been a long time since they practiced anyway — the team reportedly hasn’t practiced this calendar year.
That’s according to Cleveland.com video where Lue, James, and Kyrie Irving mentioned they had not had time to get reps in as a team since December 28, 2016.
“We get one on Sunday. We need it. Get Kyle [Korver] acclimated on what needs to be done. There’s only so much film [you can watch],” said James.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are world champions, so maybe we cut them some slack.
And perhaps this is another coin in the bucket for finding a way to ease the NBA schedule. Cleveland has had no more than one day between games since Dec. 28, a span where they’ve played eight games and gone 5-3.
