San Antonio Spurs guard Jonathan Simmons has become a highlight reel staple, and Friday night agains the Portland Trail Blazers he reminded us why.
As the Spurs led the Blazers late in the fourth quarter, San Antonio got out in transition. Simmons was streaking down the right wing and wound up behind Blazers swingman Pat Connaughton.
That’s when Simmons went up for a slam with his toe just barely edging the outside of the paint.
The result was a poster dunk that looks impossible from every angle.
After the game, Simmons walked Fox Sports through the game, saying he didn’t know he was so far away from the basket.
“I think Jesus’ wings was on my back,” Simmons chuckled.
