Unlike Knicks-Trail Blazers and Nuggets-Bulls, the Lakers’ win over the Thunder on Tuesday didn’t qualify for a Last Two Minute Report. Those are only written on games that were within five points with two minutes left. The Lakers held a six-point lead with two minutes left.
But the NBA didn’t use that as an excuse to avoid taking responsibility.
The Thunder was informed Wednesday by the NBA that Nick Young committed a traveling violation before his game-winning 3-pointer with five seconds left in a 111-109 Lakers win, The Oklahoman has learned.
This obviously won’t change the result. It probably won’t make the Thunder feel better.
But – for whatever it’s worth – they now know they got a raw deal on that pivotal call.
