The Charlotte Hornets started the season 6-1 and looked good, but had done that against a pretty soft schedule. Then they ran into Toronto and Cleveland and picked up a couple of quick losses. The Hornets needed to get back on track.
Kemba Walker took care of that.
He dropped 30 on an improving Timberwolves team — not to mention the six assists, five rebounds, and five steals — to give Charlotte the 115-108 win Tuesday. Walker has been killing it from deep this season, averaging 3.4 three-pointers a game (second only to some guy named Curry). He’s going to need to keep it up as the Hornets head into a tougher stretch of the schedule where we will find out just how good this team really is.
