NBA D-League fans who enjoyed the ease, simplicity, and application support from YouTube will have to make a change this season.
According to D-League reporter Chris Reichert, D-League games will now be broadcast on Facebook Live.
YouTube has offered an easy way to watch live and archival D-League games since 2013. Facebook Live has made a huge push to relevancy lately, even advertising via traditional media to help steer users to the service.
No word yet on how this will affect the usability of the service. Facebook notoriously requires you to use their own Messenger application to send communication to other users, which is clunky.
Hopefully Facebook doesn’t branch their Live service out to a separate application, and D-League viewers can get their games simply on all devices.
