He’ll have to reverse the tailspin without a starting forward, Dante Cunningham.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham has been suspended for one game without pay for pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle in a negligent manner while exhibiting the effects of having consumed alcohol, in violation of the law of the State of Washington, the NBA announced today.
Cunningham will be suspended for tonight’s game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Phoenix Suns.
Cunningham has started the last couple games over Omer Asik, allowing Davis to slide to center in a small-ball lineup. That hasn’t resulted in a win, but New Orleans has at least come closer.
Now what do the Pelicans do against the Suns? Go big with Asik? Start Terrence Jones at power forward? Go even smaller with Solomon Hill at power forward and another wing – Lance Stephenson or Buddy Hield – in the starting lineup?
There are no great options.
