Draymond Green: Warriors want to beat Thunder ‘really bad’ for Kevin Durant

Russell Westbrook has repeatedly said he’s no more motivated to play the Warriors than he is for any other game.

With the Thunder facing Golden State tonight for the first time since Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City, Draymond Green is taking a different approach.

Green, via Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:

“I think it’ll be a lot of emotions,” Green said. “They’re going to want to beat him really bad. He’s going to want to beat them really bad. In turn, we’re going to want to beat them really bad because we want him to beat them really bad.

“It’ll be a lot of emotions, but it’ll be a fun game to play in. It’s always a high-intensity game against them and I expect nothing less.”

The Warriors have no trouble finding and sharing their motivations. Westbrook seemingly wants to keep his motivations closer to the vest, but has had a hard time doing that.

Rest assured, this is not just any other regular-season game. There are real feelings here, and both sides will be especially pumped.
