Ty Lawson was late to a Kings shootaround then missed a team flight – a troubling sign for a player on an unguaranteed contract with a history of DUIs and, according to a former employer, practicing while smelling of alcohol.

But Sacramento appears ready to roll with Lawson regardless.

What exactly happened with Lawson and the Kings, who played in Las Vegas on Thursday and Lexington, Ky., on Saturday?

Sacramento Kings star Ty Lawson was partying his face off with teammates at a Vegas club Thursday night before missing a team flight on Friday morning … TMZ Sports has learned.

Ty’s agent, Happy Walters, tells us Ty asked for and received permission from the team to miss the flight.

There’s nothing wrong with an adult going out in Las Vegas and enjoying himself. Nobody fretted about Kevin Durant and Draymond Green doing it.

But this saga is obviously more complex than that.

Vlade Divac said Lawson apologized for missing the flight. If Lawson had permission to miss the flight, what was he apologizing for? Or if Lawson didn’t apologize, why did Divac say the point guard did?

Sometimes, agents just spin a story to make their clients look more favorable. But, sometimes, the Kings twist themselves to make a difficult situation even worse.

It’s even money on which is the case here.
