On Friday, Heat guard Josh Richardson suffered a partially torn MCL in his right knee. The injury would cause him to miss time during training camp, but there was no clarity on exactly how long he’d be out. Now, he tells reporters his timeline is six to eight weeks.
With two more weeks before training camp starts, it’s likely that Richardson will miss all of camp. If he’s on the shorter end of that timeline, he’ll be ready to go in time for the start of the regular season. But if there’s a setback in his rehab, there’s a chance he’ll be out for the first couple weeks of the season. Hopefully it doesn’t drag out too long. Richardson had a promising rookie season and the Heat are a potential playoff team if everybody (read: Chris Bosh) is healthy.
