Report: Rockets signing Pablo Prigioni

The Rockets included Pablo Prigioni as a minor piece of their trade for Ty Lawson — a deal that turned into a major failure.

So, Houston is turning back to Prigioni.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:

Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:

The 39-year-old Prigioni spent last season with the Clippers, and his age showed. He’s a defensive liability, and his 3-point shot became one too.

Still, Houston needs depth behind Patrick Beverley. Prigioni is a heady playmaker who can get the ball to the Rockets’ weapons old (James Harden) and new (Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon).

At this price, why not? Still, the Rockets should look for another point guard capable of at least preventing Prigioni from carrying too heavy of a load for his age.
