In the days leading up to free agency, the Knicks have been seen as the strong favorites to sign Joakim Noah. The Vertical‘s Shams Charania is reporting that the two sides are progressing on a four-year, $70 million deal, which could get done in the immediate future:
The annual dollar amount isn’t much of a surprise, but the four years is a massive risk given Noah’s age and injury history. But he’s close with Derrick Rose and has ties to New York, so it’s no surprise to anyone that this is the direction these talks are going. Still, that’s a lot of guaranteed money for Noah at this point in his career.
