The conventional wisdom since the Philadelphia 76ers won the draft lottery last month has been that they will select LSU’s Ben Simmons, widely considered the most talented player in the draft. But there’s still a chance they could select Duke’s Brandon Ingram, the presumptive No. 2 pick, who worked out with the Lakers earlier this week.
The Vertical‘s Shams Charania reports that Ingram will work out for the Sixers on Monday:
Even if the Sixers have more or less decided on Simmons, or at least are strongly leaning that way, it’s good that they’re doing their due diligence with Ingram. He could blow them away in his workout and interview, and tip the scales towards himself as the top pick. But as of now, it looks like it’s Simmons’ position to lose.
