The Warriors blew out the Rockets in Saturday’s series opener, and they did it with only 20 minutes from Stephen Curry. Curry played just three minutes in the second half after turning his right ankle near the end of the second quarter, and he’s not taking any risks Monday night in Game 2 of the series.
This is probably the smart play for the Warriors. They have enough weapons to win this series without Curry, and this Houston team has shown no sign of being able to beat the Warriors with or without him. If he’s not fully healthy, it makes sense to try to win this series without him and save him for the later rounds.
