Can the Cavaliers push the Warriors if they meet in the NBA Finals?

Yes.

Literally.

Cavaliers release:

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guard Dahntay Jones, Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin announced today

The Cavs needed wing depth with Iman Shumpert and Mo Williams banged up. Playoff eligible after spending the season in the D-League, Jones provides that.

The 35-year-old wing probably doesn’t have much left in the tank, but Cleveland won’t ask much of him. He’s a reliable defender, though his declining athleticism could override positioning advantages. Jones is capable of hitting 3-pointers, but he’s not a knockdown shooter.

This is a fine signing given the Cavaliers’ win-now approach, but they should hope they won’t need Jones this postseason.
