Jimmy Butler‘s left knee hasn’t been right for a while. He suffered a strain during an early February loss in Denver and missed the next month, returned for a March 5 win over the Rockets, then sat out three more games with knee soreness. Since then, he’s struggled from the field, and a recent report indicated that there’s a strong possibility Butler will need surgery this summer.
Not so, says Butler.
With the Bulls still fighting to break back into the playoff race, Butler isn’t going to say that he needs surgery now. But he clearly hasn’t been healthy since before the injury — he’s been ineffective in recent weeks and isn’t moving well. It would not be surprise if he did, in fact, need surgery this offseason.
