You knew the Last Two Minute Report for the Nuggets’ 116-114 overtime win over the Mavericks on Sunday got off to a bad start when officials missed an intentional foul.
From there, all three officiating errors – two of them crucial – went against the Mavericks.
On Denver’s ensuing possession, Kenneth Faried got away with an offensive foul while screening Williams with 20.1 seconds left:
Faried (DEN) sets the screen on Williams (DAL) and delivers the contact without giving him room to avoid it.
Instead of the Nuggets turning the ball over, Will Barton drew a foul and hit two free throws.
An Emmanuel Mudiay steal and Faried layup later, the game was headed to overtime.
Faried got away with another offensive foul in overtime, per the NBA. But Denver didn’t score on that possession.
Later in the extra period, Nuggets guard Gary Harris forced a Williams miss with an uncalled shooting foul with 3:17 left:
Harris (DEN) makes contact with Williams’ (DAL) head that affects his drive to the basket and shot attempt.
Denver used those incorrect missed calls en route to its two-point win.
The Mavericks, who lost to the Clippers yesterday, are now tied with the Trail Blazers for sixth in the Western Conference.
