After suffering a shoulder injury during training camp, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was presumed done for the year, which made it a pleasant surprise when he came back before the All-Star break. But after appearing in seven games for the Hornets, he injured the same shoulder again just before the break, and the news isn’t good.
From Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski:
This is terrible news for the Hornets, who are still in the playoff hunt but need MKG’s defense on the perimeter. It also sucks for him — he worked hard to beat his initial timeline to come back from the first shoulder injury, only to hit another setback. You never like to see this happen to anyone, especially not a player as promising as he is.
