The Hornets got blown out 109-91 by the Blazers in Portland on Friday night, but there was one massive silver lining. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, whom most assumed would be out for the season after suffering a torn labrum in training camp and undergoing surgery, made his season debut.
Kidd-Gilchrist looked pretty good for his first game back, scoring 13 points and playing solid defense on C.J. McCollum. For all their other injuries, getting Kidd-Gilchrist back before the All-Star break when he had previously been thought lost for the season is a huge break for Charlotte, and could be a difference maker as they fight to stay in the playoff hunt.
