Two weeks ago, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he hoped to return in 2-3 weeks.
Though Kerr has lamented the difficulty of predicting when he’d feel better after his back surgeries, he might remain on that timeline.
Adam Lauridsen of Fast Break:
That’d be against the Nuggets after tonight’s game at the Rockets.
If Kerr returns Saturday, he’d face a very winnable stretch of games:
- vs. Nuggets
- vs. Hornets
- at Lakers
- at Trail Blazers
- at Kings
- vs. Heat
- at Nuggets
- vs. Lakers
That’s a nice opportunity to remind everyone where you’re the head coach and Luke Walton, who has impressed as an interim coach, is an assistant.
The 29-2 Warriors haven’t faced much adversity this season, but they’re being tested now with Stephen Curry sidelined. Kerr could help guide them through this stretch – or maybe even have his return coincide with Curry’s, which would provide another chance for Kerr to look better.
Kerr has already proven he’s a good coach, but seeing him in action would be a nice reminder.
