The 76ers won after an 0-18 start tied the 2009-10 Nets for worst-ever start.

Now, Philadelphia has a dubious starting record all to itself.

The 76ers lost to the Cavaliers, 108-86, today to drop to 1-28. Every other team in NBA history has won at least twice before its 30th game.

At 1-28, Philadelphia fell behind the six teams that started 2-27:

  • 1970-81 Cleveland Cavaliers
  • 1992-93 Dallas Mavericks
  • 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks
  • 1997-98 Denver Nuggets
  • 2004-05 New Orleans Hornets
  • 2009-10 New Jersey Nets

Every team in league history has won at least three times through its 42nd game. The 76ers better get going to avoid claiming that record.

They’re already behind.
