INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert will miss Thursday night’s game against Oklahoma City with a strained right groin.

Shumpert got hurt on Tuesday night in Cleveland’s win over Boston. It was just his second game back after missing the first 21 games this season following wrist surgery.

The Cavs did not put a timeframe on a return for Shumpert, perhaps the team’s best defensive player who came to Cleveland last season in a trade with the New York Knicks.

While Shumpert recovers, the team is also awaiting the return of All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, who hasn’t played since breaking his left kneecap in Game 1 of last season’s NBA Finals.

The Cavs host Philadelphia on Sunday.
