Report: Rockets’ Sam Dekker out three months with back surgery

The Rockets haven’t used 18th overall pick Sam Dekker much so far this season, and now they won’t be able to for a while. ESPN.com’s Jeff Goodman reports that Dekker will undergo back surgery and be sidelined for around three months:

Dekker had only played in three games for the Rockets and logged a total of six minutes, zero points and one rebound, so this isn’t a loss of a major rotation player for Houston. But injuries like this are never fun—even if he wasn’t playing, he could have gotten some reps in the D-League, and now he won’t be able to play at all.
