The Kobe Bryant injury watch has begun. He missed his first game of the season in Tuesday night’s Lakers loss to the Heat in Miami with back soreness. He said it wasn’t anything serious, but he’s listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Magic in Orlando:
Via ESPN.com’s Baxter Holmes:
With the way Bryant has been playing, it’s probably for the best that he sit out when he isn’t feeling 100 percent (although, if that’s still not going to lead Byron Scott to play D'Angelo Russell in crunch time then it doesn’t matter much, but that’s a different discussion entirely). This is likely Kobe’s farewell tour, and the Lakers aren’t making the playoffs anyway, so when he does play, he should be as close to healthy as possible so that he can at least look like some semblance of the old Kobe.
