Kobe Bryant has made 11,334 shots now over the course of his NBA career.
With that little putback bank you see above, Bryant moved past his former teammate Shaquille O’Neal into fifth all-time in field goals made in the NBA. (He would be sixth if the NBA counted Dr. J’s ABA stats, but the league doesn’t officially.)
It’s another in a long line of honors for Kobe as he winds down his career. This is a guy who always knew how to get buckets, who needed just a sliver of space to get by or over a defender and make them pay, a player whose fundamentals and footwork were always impeccable. He’s going to hit a few more milestones before he hangs them up.
