Tuesday night at Oracle Arena, the Warriors received their championship rings and picked up where they left off last year, beating the Pelicans 111-95. Stephen Curry was unstoppable, dropping 40 points (including 24 in the first quarter), but the most welcome sight of all was another familiar face to NBA fans: Craig Sager working the sideline for the TNT broadcast. Sager, you’ll remember, has undergone two different rounds of treatment for leukemia in the last 18 months and was just recently cleared to return to work.
It’s too bad that Sager’s first game back couldn’t involve the Spurs—we’ll have to wait a little longer for his first sideline interview with Gregg Popovich. But it’s great to see him back either way.
