The Pelicans’ hopes of contending in the Western Conference are largely dependent on keeping healthy a roster that has been ravaged by injuries over the last couple of years. On Thursday, head coach Alvin Gentry delivered some less-than-encouraging news about Jrue Holiday, who is recovering from offseason leg surgery.
Via the New Orleans Advocate‘s Brett Dawson:
A minutes limit for Holiday will be a serious test of the Pelicans’ depth. Norris Cole is their primary backup, and Tyreke Evans can play some point, but neither of those are ideal solutions. Hopefully Holiday can be fully healthy without restrictions by the time the playoffs roll around.
