When the new season tips off, it will have been three years since Carlos Delfino last played in the NBA. Following three years with the Bucks, he played one year in Houston and signed back in Milwaukee in the summer of 2013. He missed the entire 2013-14 season with a foot injury, was traded to the Clippers last summer as part of the Jared Dudley trade, and then waived. Now, Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times reports that Delfino is shooting for an NBA comeback and worked out with the Spurs earlier this summer:
At 33 and with his injury history, Delfino is probably near the end of his NBA rope. But he shot 37.5 percent from three-point range in his last season with the Rockets and can defend both wing positions, so if he’s healthy, he wouldn’t be the worst end-of-bench veteran for a team to pick up.
