After a disappointing season with the Lakers, Jeremy Lin is about to begin his first year with the Charlotte Hornets. So far it’s not off to a great start: the sixth-year guard tweeted that security at Time Warner Cable Arena didn’t recognize him when he went to check out his new home court:
On the one hand, as the only Asian American player in the league, Lin doesn’t look like other NBA players. In a vacuum, it would be an easy enough mistake to make. But it’s not like Jeremy Lin is anonymous or unknown. He was a worldwide phenomenon three years ago and is still massively popular, even if the rest of his career hasn’t lived up to the brief “Linsanity” era with the Knicks. You can’t blame him for being frustrated.
