The Thunder already have 15 players with guaranteed salaries and are over the luxury-tax line.
I doubt Oklahoma City wants to eat any of those guaranteed contracts and pay for a replacement player.
But the Thunder are still adding to their training-camp roster.
First, Dez Wells.
Now, Talib Zanna.

Zanna played for the Thunder’s D-League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, last season. So, they already have his rights. Therefore, this isn’t a gambit to waive Zanna and assign his D-League rights.
A 6-foot-9 forward who went undrafted out of Pittsburgh last year, Zanna averaged 13.3 points and 11.0 rebounds in the D-League.
Most likely, the Thunder just want him as an extra body for preseason practices. Plus, they can evaluate him more closely for a few weeks.
