The Kings just finished celebrating 30 years in Sacramento this season, which is something that is not to be taken for granted given that they almost moved multiple times. To mark the milestone, as well as the final year playing in their current arena (their new one opens next year), they’re bringing back the classic baby-blue look that they wore in their first five seasons for select games, according to the team’s official website:
Today, the Sacramento Kings announced the return of the uniforms worn by the team from 1985-1990, including during the inaugural season in Sacramento. Kings players will rock the infamous “baby blues” during all nine #FlashbackFriday home games this season. The Kings will also wear the retro jerseys for the final home game of the regular season, the last ever to be played in Sleep Train Arena.
They’ve put the new jerseys up for preorder, and they’re pretty gorgeous:
