The Kings agreed to an awful trade to clear cap space for players who don’t want it.
Monta Ellis reportedly rejected four years, $48 million from Sacramento for $4 million less with the Pacers. Wesley Matthews reportedly turned down four years, $64 million from the Kings for less with the Mavericks.
But Sacramento isn’t getting spurned by every guard.
Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports:
After playing three years for the Spurs and Rockets, James Anderson was a relatively veteran presence on the young 2013-14 76ers. He spent last season in Lithuania.
As far as cheap bench depth, Anderson is fine. It’s not yet clear how much the Kings will pay him, but anything over a minimum contract seems like an overpay.
