Report: Nuggets interview former Kings coach Mike Malone for head coaching vacancy


The Nuggets have been quietly conducting their head coaching search without the fanfare that greeted the Thunder, Pelicans, Magic and Bulls in their turns on the carousel. Mike D’Antoni has been linked to Denver’s opening, and there have even been rumblings that former Knicks head coach and current Clippers assistant Mike Woodson is under consideration. Now,’s Marc Stein adds another name to the list of interviewees: former Kings coach Mike Malone.

Malone was fired by the Kings in December under a bizarre set of circumstances, but he was well-liked by his players and is well-respected in coaching circles.
