Dirk Nowitzki says he’ll play for Germany at Eurobasket

Mark Cuban gave his (unnecessary) permission before the season.

Now, Dirk Nowitzki says he’ll play for Germany at Eurobasket (via Sportando):

Nowitzki wants to get Germany into the 2016 Rio Olympics, but that will be a tough road.

A top-two finish at Eurobasket would do the trick.

Placing third through sixth would at least get Germany into the Olympic qualifying tournament. The top three teams in that reach Rio.

September’s Eurobasket could be the last time we see Nowitzki – who turns 37 before the tournament – represent his home country.
