Chandler Parsons won’t say whether his surgery was microfracture, might not be ready for training camp

Chandler Parsons had surgery on his knee.

What more do we know? Not much.

Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News:

He was asked directly whether his knee surgery was of the microfracture variety.

“I don’t think they want me to answer if it was or not,” Parsons said.

That doesn’t sound like the best of news and it got worse when Parsons added that he isn’t sure he’ll be ready to play when training camp opens in about four months.

Usually, players are more forthcoming with good news, but maybe Parsons just values privacy more than most. Indications are that’s not the case for him.

Rehab for microfracture surgery is about 6-12 months, which would probably keep Parsons sidelined to begin next season.

It’s easy to see Dallas on the edge of making the playoffs next year, so every game he misses is crucial. The Mavericks shouldn’t rush him back, but they also need Parsons on the court. It’s a dilemma.
