Randy Wittman gets riled up about John Wall report (video)

Michael Lee of The Washington Post reported John Wall clashed with the Wizards’ medical staff over his initial diagnosis.

Wall was expected to play Game 2 against the Hawks despite a wrist injury, but he ultimately couldn’t. Turns out, he had five (!) non-displaced fractures in wrist and hand.

Wizards coach Randy Wittman called Lee’s report “a flat-out a lie” and “unfair to this kid” (Wall).

Um, OK?

I don’t understand why Wittman feels the report made Wall look bad. It made the Wizards’ training staff look bad.

If anything, Lee’s report vindicated Wall by showing the point guard was correct to believe the injury was more serious and sit out Game 2.

Wittman also defended the medical staff, but he spent more time defending Wall – who, again, came out of the report looking good. (Any guesses where Lee got his information?)

This is Wittman, though – fiercely loyal to Wall and someone who comes across as a dunce too often.
