After falling behind by 12 to the Rockets, the Clippers went on a late 10-2 run to cut their deficit to four. They got a stop, and it really felt like they might pull off the crazy comeback as they pushed the ball upcourt.
“Here comes Austin Rivers!” exclaimed Kevin Harlan.
And then it all went so, so wrong.
One of Rivers’ keys while starting for an injured Chris Paul was not trying to do too much, and for most of Games 1 and 2, Rivers did that. Unfortunately, he got big eyes at the worst possible moment. This just rings too true.
