Byron Scott says Kobe Bryant has started lifting weights, rehab is progressing

The Lakers did their end-of-season exit interviews today. Kobe Bryant didn’t speak to the media but Byron Scott provided an update on his rehab, after missing most of the season with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder:

It’s hard to believe Kobe has minute expectations lower than a medically imposed limit. But it sounds like his rehab is going according to plan. When he had the surgery in January, the timetable for recovery was around nine months, which would put him back on the court around the start of training camp and likely being ready to go for the start of the regular season. Since next year will probably be Bryant’s final season, hopefully he’s able to stay relatively healthy and not miss significant time like he did the last two seasons.
